i had skunk2 valves install an the guy told me he had to machine them .to fit right in with the bc retainers &springs. red mark is where it has to be done ? is this normal or bs?

Normal, you can't just put valves in, need to do valve job to match seats to new valves. Without this, compression issues are given, but possibly installed height could be off as well, in which case you have to grind down top of the valve stem.

So yes, normal.

Unless the head has a problem I wouldn't change them. There has been plenty of dynos showing that head jobs aren't worth the amount of money your going to put into it for just bolt ons.

i bough something from xlr8 but he didnt have it in stock . He said he would charge me 20% restock ... instead of me loosing 20% on a 800 dollar order i ordered these and the valvetrain from him. sad thing is i forgot about them when the engine was pulled out and the valvetrain was upgraded. Now they are going in along with wiseco pistons.
