Hello all, I bought a K24A a year ago and I'm planning to do maintenance on the cylinder head. I will be replacing most of the gaskets and seals such as the valve cover, spark plug, filters for VTEC solenoid, and VTC. Are there any more gaskets/seals that need to be replaced and also, is it the same part numbers as the K24A2?

Thanks in advance!

Gaskets and seals should be exactly the same as the a2. I haven't come across anything different so far.

Both JDM engines I have installed had different water jackets, which had different accessory mounting. You'll either need a custom PS line to use the included accessories, or swap your old water jacket and accessories over.

The k24a VTEC solenoid doesn't have a sensor the TSX uses. The threaded hole is present and plugged. Just take out the plug and install your sensor.

FWIW neither engine had the need for many seal replacements when I got them. I did valve cover/ spark plug seals just because I pulled the VC to have a look around, make sure it was the right engine. The only seal that was a problem on both engines was the VTEC solenoid seal. I'd recommend replacing that while the engine is on a stand.

Thanks for the heads up, Shandalo! The motor is already in the car and being that the motor is old and I will be replacing the valve cover for a powder-coated one; I feel that it is best to replace what I can for now.

Much appreciated for your quick response!

Sorry, please. Don't you sell your TSX? I'm looking now for one. I know that this car is produced by Honda and I won't have problems with expensive maintenance or sth else. I know that Honda and Toyota are the best one. I was thinking about the importing of one and I've already checked all the Japanese car importer list and I'm thinking now which company to choose. But if you are selling your's I'd be interested in it because we are at one forum and it seems that you are keeping your car in a good condition.
