Hello everyone. I am looking to buy a first gen tsx but I am very new to cars and modding in general. Is there anything I can do (besides turbo or supercharging) to get more power out of the k24 engine? I would like minimal downtime if possible. Thank you!

To do whenever:
Reflash
DIY cold air or CTE icebox
Throttle body coolant bypass
Headers
Lightweight pullies (if you aren't scared of them supposedly ruining your front crank seal)

For when you're there anyway:
Hondata IM heatshield
Lightweight flywheel
Upgraded clutch
EM1 CMC and CSC
ASP3 transmission

Also, if you end up with an 04-05, you should look out for an 06-08 parting out and get the IM, TB, intake pipe and cat converter. All these parts flow more air than the 04-05 stuff.

After you get the icebox I would save up 2500 - do the PLM header, 3 inch cat and dual 3 inch exhaust - you will need to add an 02 sensor bung after the collector. Then swap for a 42-45 degree VTC gear, 4piston oil pump and fluid dampener crank pulley - skip the other pulleys, then reflash. You'll have a ton of extra hp and tq and can always add a kraftwerks supercharger on top of that. Make sure they disable rev hang during tuning, it's life changing.

Then make sure you have go tires and competent suspension - unless you are tracking the car, stick with the factory alignment specs - you will already have traction issues.

I would not touch the gearing unless you are absolutely certain - the most popular option comes from a car with way less hp and tq than you will have and is designed for short track use.

The 80/20 rule is a good analogy, never tune for extremes - that's not where you will drive 80% of the time.
