I recently grout my car to be inspected by my mechanic. He called and told me both my front struts were leaking. He advised that I should contact the dealer as it may still be under warranty. I contacted them and made an appointment. They said that if the struts were leaking it would be covered under warranty until 50k. When they called me they said that there is absolutely nothing wrong with struts. They claim that mechanic doesnt know Acura and that the coating on the strut is an undercoat they put on to protect the car. I told my mechanic and he put it up on lift and showed me. There was definitely an oily residue on the strut. If it was an undercoating it wouldn't be wet and able to be wiped off.
Anyone else have this issue? I think the dealer is playing games because it is so close to 50k miles that they will tell me after warranty expires that they need to be replaced. Any ideas?
