Hey guys,
I'm new here so bare with me. I've never encountered this until recently.
I was driving to work on the expressway this morning and when I hit the gas pedal to the floor, the engine was high revving then suddenly went into I guess what's called Limp Mode (wont rev higher than 3k RPM). I pulled over to the shoulder and checked everything out. Hoses were intact, fluids were good, etc. I turned the car off and turned it back on and it was fine for about 5 minutes until I went heavier on the gas pedal again then back to Limp Mode again.
Car: 2010 Acura TSX AT 4-cylinder (currently stock)
Symptons:
*CEL is on solid (has been for 2 weeks, there were no issues prior to last night)
* When at Full Throttle in low gear it seems to be hesitant on pick up, almost as if it's starting at 2nd or 3rd gear.
*On highway, at Full Throttle the RPM's would rise but no powerband kicking in. Until last night when I first experienced the Limp Mode action.
A few things I tried:
*replacing the DBW fuse
*ECU reset (key in 2nd position, foot on gas pedal method)
I'm leaving work in an hour to work on the problem and have the CEL read. The only thing I was able to find relative in the threads is that it can be the APP sensor. Any other ideas or areas I should be checking? Any info is helpful and once I get the CEL codes, I will upload those on here as well. Last time I ran into this sort of situation is when I blew the tranny on my previous Cadillac but that was years ago and was rather evident that I blew it. I don't think that this is the case here. Do you think a manual ECU reset via disconnecting the battery may help the ECU reconfig itself?
Appreciate everything gents.
