Can someone that has installed the factory Navigational system in a non-Nav 2004 TSX please reply with detailed instructions on how it is done and what parts (with numbers) are required? Acura just told me that they have no instructions on how to do this and what is needed.

I remember a thread where someone said that the money wouldn't be worth it, which got me to assume that it has been done before.

it is doable - nothing is impossible - IF YOU HAVE THE KNOW-HOW - I have read this ONE person in Miami describing the process. it is VERY VERY tedious and involved. and NO WARRANTY.

Before I find that info - are you very good at (car) electronics ?

Robert,

I have two left thumbs. I wil not be the one doing the installation.
The Acura dealership will be. I know it will be expensive, but when you really want something...

OK so you're to let the dealer do it...your originally asking for "detailed instruction" made me like this

Parts needed : Acura Catalog

SERVICE MANUAL

H-VAC display unit (tv)
Navigation Dvd (39010-SDA-A41)
Sub clock display unit (39710-SEC-A51)
Sub wire, cable reel harness (behind airbag) (77901-SDA-A40)
GPS antenna (39835-SEC-A01)
Homelink buttons (navi edition includes a mic) (34404-SDA-A21)
Switch assy., Navigation Guide (35890-SEC-A01)
Case (3A) for switch assy (35891-SEC-A01)
Plate switch set (78517-SDN-A81)
2x Screw-washer (4X12) (93893-04012-07)
2x Screw-washer (4X12 ) (93893-04012-17)
Size 22 wire (all wires are this size)
Soldering iron
Electrical tape
Screwdriver
Flat head
Torx T-30 (airbag removal)

Items to dismantle:

Back seat
Gauge cluster
Left and right kick panels
Passenger side floor interior trim
Back seat shelf (speaker area)
Both left and right rear pillar air bag trim covers (to be able to pull out the shelf)
Center dash
Interior trim under and around steering wheel
Driver side airbag

It took the guy few days to read the manual pages and 4 days to do it.

1) I will be surprised if the dealer is willing to take the job.
2) Assuming dealer takes the job, I will be VERY surprised if it's going to cost you less than just trading in for a 2005 Nav. (no way that's gonna happen)
