A week ago I bought higher springs rates for my BC Extreme coilovers. Today I replaced all springs and got the front coils do my desired height. (low)

however, when i tried to lower the back coils... the rears second adjustment (the bolt) did not budge! so I took apart the whole coilover and noticed that the second adjustment had no space to thread in. This is because the body of coliover was already maxed out... The height I had originally wasnt even low...

I guess my question is...the people who do have the "Extreme low option" have this problem trying to slam?

Here it is ... Also is the threaded body that length for everyone else?

Conclusion/new review of BC's

haha whoa whoa guys. I can't respond to all these replies.:squint:

Just got a a reply from a BC tech. He says I have to cut the bolt. So to get "extremely low" i have to do some cutting.

For future reference who ever needs to know why the BC's are not low in the rear is because you have to cut the bolt. Im such idiot i forgot after paying a g i needed to do some cutting...

I asked for extreme low so i didnt have to cut things... I didnt know the kit required a grinder, goggles, and a dye :squint:

BC's are great coilovers however if you're looking to go low go with some buddys or f2's. I guess i am disappointed with BC's response.

thats enough of me b*tching
hope this thread helped who ever is looking for coils

Sucks, never heard of this and seen some cars go real low with extremes. Love when a company tells you to do some work. I'll look around.

Grand Hustle, I'm dumped on standards front and back without maxing out, doing it wrong?

x2 Zulu. I went with BC BR Types since everyone had positive feedback on them and cars go LOW.

But like I said, please keep us posted on the grinding needed for the "extreme low" option

Initially I wanted to start this thread because I was frustrated due to the fact that it took me forever to change all springs. Then, learning near the end that i had to remove my suspension once more to cut them and then putting them back in...

Also, Scheme and Hustle don't worry about it until you try lowering the rears. I have a strong feeling that I am the only rare case that this happens.

i believe they gave me a regular kit with just a shorter cartridge. I just got an email from a BC tech again asking for my serial number on my coils to research the build specs on them.

So who knows :donno: All I know is a manufacturer tells me to cut something on my suspension is suspect! :squint:

here is the pic

now its a shorter bolt and the end of the cartridge

Anyways... my car is dumped and im done ranting

Thanks, Grand. And, when you go to adjust your setup, PM me if you need a hand with any issues.

Glad you sorted it out OP, does sound like they gave you a macguyvered sort of rear setup, definitely not proper.

edit: Wanted to say my standard BC BRs are not maxed out in the front or rear. I actually had to raise the car ~3/4'' because it was regularly scraping frame and teeter tottering on speed bumps (I attribute some of that to the mountainous area I'm in).

you got any more pictures of the "extreme low" and the BC BR on max low before you modded them ?

just trying to see how low they go by default.

Tein streetFlex claim -120mm drop are the BC better than that or about the same ?

I'd go with the br types with extreme low. Just make sure that's what you get. Talk to a rep at import image or heeltoe.

Can't you cut off a bit if the threaded part with a hacksaw?

Stan
Yeah I did that.
