Was going for the OEM TL-S wheel color, I think I got pretty close...this is 3 layers of Plasti-dip (in case I want to remove it), then 3 light coats of Dupli-color High Performance Wheel Coating #102 Graphite:

Thanks for all the compliments.

There is a Plasti-Dip "Gunmetal" color for sale out there. It is NOT gunmetal - it looks more like a light gray, pretty bad...but I knew that and got the graphite paint to go on top. I finished the other two wheels this morning so it's all done. Painting those wheel caps while maintaining the black "A" in the centre was interesting.

I am lowered on Tein springs. Wouldn't go any lower, I hit stuff all the time as it is.

Did you use tape, or a plastic/ Craft knife to manually cut out the A Afterwards? Did you use PD or vinyl wrap to do the black out/chrome delete?

If i Did PD on the wheels, could i paint over them with graphite AFTER (like days or weeks later) or does it have to be at the same time?

Thanks man, nice work!

I appreciate the compliment. It's been about 2 months and it's holding up pretty good, I'm happy.

For the A - I stuffed the "A" depressed area with play-doh to cover the black, then sprayed 3 layers of PD and 3 layers of paint (of course, allowing dry time in between), then VERY CAREFULLY peeled the play-doh out, using a razor knife (I recommend a artists knife with a micro-blade) if and when it stuck to the PD/paint. It was tedious but it came out real nice, it looks real good. If you follow this method, use black play-doh, if you use a color it will leave a film on the "A" that you'll be pained to scrub off.

To me this was much easier than painting the whole thing and cutting it afterward.

The chrome delete was vinyl tape, check out my thread here:

As far as when to paint after doing the PD, I suppose anything would work, but I suggest doing it all at once so you don't have to re-clean the wheels or re-tape off the tire/brakes/etc.
