Anyone know a reliable, trustworthy mechanic in or near the Walnut, CA area? The Alternator in my van needs to be replaced. It's at a Honda dealership right now but I know they overcharge and I'm not sure how their mechanics are.

Their hours are 11-7, and the guys there are amazing with the cars. Ask for Albert, and let him know Luwin sent you. If you have any trouble getting a hold of him at the shop, just let me know and I'll call him on his cell. Their other mechanic is Pete, who used to be the head mechanic at D2Technik in Alhambra back in the day - he's been working on my cars for over 10 years now.

Their shop is a mess sometimes, but look past that and they do good work, and he'll hunt around for the lowest prices on parts you need. My a/c compressor just gave out and he took good care of me.

Firestone didn't even try to put my car on their alignment rack with planks, so I came to 714 Tires where I heard they specialize in working on lowered cars. I paid for Toe only alignment, but they went ahead and adjusted my camber for the same price.

714 Tires: all their workers work on the car. I was done within 30 minutes

Firestone: more quantity over quality imo. One guy works on many cars lined up. I usually have to wait 2-3 hours even though they tell me 90 minutes tops.

Also heard 714 Tires hooks it up with great deals on wheels. Will be coming here when I next get a new set of tires.

BC Advance Auto Repairs

Got my clutch changed here. $250. No I'm not kidding, that was standard pricing. It's been 2.5 weeks and no problems has arise.

One thing I should have done was provided my own Honda transmission oil because the MT oil they used really sucked.

Another thing I also didn't like was that they messed up the teeth on my UR alternator pulley when I had them remove it to put the OEM one back on.

Other than that $250 for labor on a clutch replacement is a steal.

I need to replace both the left & right headlight housings and get new bulbs, ballast and igniters. Can anyone reccomend a shop in LA/OC area that sells and installs what I need? I don't need OEM housing, some aftermarket ones that look very similar would be great.
