Hi Gang,

I am a "New to me" Used Car owner of a 2004 Acura TSX Manual. I got the price knocked down because I knew the starter was bad and the battery was 5 years old. I got a new Interstate Battery and starter from Napa. I replaced them two months ago. Car was firing right up! Now I have a new issue. I go in the car and turn the key. My clock goes dark and the radio goes dark and the dash goes dark and there is no click or noise. I then turn the key on and off a few times and then it starts. I could go in the car the next day and it will fire right up.

So I hooked my car to a battery charger and in 15 minutes the battery was fully charged. I sat there and turn the car off and on. On the 10th try it sound like the battery was dying. Then i got everything goes dark for 5 turns of the key. I then did it a 6th time and the fire fired up right up. I drove it for a week no problems and now it is starting all over again. I hooked it up to the battery charger and it still has the everything goes dark. Sometimes it will fire up on the 3 turn of the key or the 10th or the 5th.

So I just had the Alternator and the battery checked and they are 100% fine. The starter is brand new and only two months old.

Any ideas Gang? Thanks for your time and help in advance!

Did you check to make sure all the wires from the battery are tight and the wires going to the starter are tight ?

Does the engine turn while you try to start it? If you don't here it turning, it's possible that even the new starter is bad. But before doing anything with the starter, you can check if throttle body is clean, check spark plug cables, check spark plugs themselves. Hopefully it has nothing to do with the fuel system since the fuel pump and filter are in the fuel tank.

Maybe you can also check the positioning of the clutch pedal. It's possible that it's not completely disengaging the clutch from the flywheel? Just throwing out ideas.
