I have a 2006 Acura TSX with 102k Miles, the previous owner did the last oil change at Mobile 1 Lube, but I'm not sure if it was synthetic oil.

When our cars were brand new did they use synthetic oil or dino ?

Should i go with Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w-30 or 10w-30?

I am using Mobil 1 Extended Performance Filter.

Go to acura/Honda dealers for all service. Have no desire to do it myself. Majority of the time they regular oil and a few times syn-blend. Never used Full synthetic. My 06 tsx has 143+miles I Follow the maintenance minder

My oil cap says 5W-30. Honda has been moving towards 5W-20 recently in a bid for better fuel economy. Heavier weights that the OP mentions are likely fine if you live in a hotter climate. If you drive pretty routinely and change your oil every 5k miles or less, conventional branded oils that meet Acura's API specifications are fine. Do a Blackstone oil analysis at your next change if you really want to know how your engine is wearing.

Unless you routinely rev up into VTEC range and drive your car hard at auto-x or track conditions, I'm not convinced the marginal advantage of synthetics is worth their cost.
