Recently my CEL went on with P0325 (knock sensor). I bought a new knock sensor to have to it replaced by a local trusted shop who has been working on my car for years. He tells me the wire/pigtail connected to the knock sensor was rusted. I dont want to have the whole engine harness replaced for a small sensor. Anyone else have the same problem or any advice on what to do? Thanks!

Why would you need to replace the whole harness? You can de-pin the connector and replace it. Its not hard and would only cost you a few bucks.

But usually some rubbing alcohol and a fine wire brush can fix those connectors

Pulling a code is not enough diag to ever throw a part at a car. It is simply a starting point.

Here are your options.
clean the terminal.
check with the dealer to see if you can puchase a new terminal and replace the rusty one.
start looking around yards and the internet for someone who will cut that part off a harness.
