Hey What up everyone. I've been reading the Audio/video section and there are lots of requests to see the N1. Here are my pics.

My recommendation to anyone thinking about mounting in the storage bin area is to buy the aftermarket MP3 attachment kit. Part # 08B06-SEC-210 They have it at <a href="http://www.handaaccessories.com/tsx.html" target="_blank">http://www.handaaccessories.com/tsx.html</a> Using this kit would be a little more sturdy and you could probably install it yourself to save some money. These pictures were taken with my Nokia 3650 Camera Phone, so the quality is kind of crappy. Sorry about that. I will try to get a different camera and post more pics later. Let me know if you have any questions about how things are installed. Hope this helps guys!

I have it hooked up through the AUX input of the factory deck. This allowed me to keep functionality of my factory 6 disc changer.

Pic so you can see how far up the screen goes. It covers the A/C controls but I can still see the status. The deck has a button on top which will flip down the screen and then put it back in place after 10 secs.<br />

Tsx536,

Where do you get the braket for the unit?

Thanks!
I appreciate the complements guys!

Get the trim piece and mount from this pic (top pic):
http://www.handa-accessories.com/tsx.html
It allows you to put replace the storage bin area with the mp3 attachment kit.

You can buy it from Scott at Escondido Acura in Calif.
Here's his email and the item number you need.
[email protected]
Part number: 08B06-SEC-210

It will probably run you like $75 or so. It's a little pricey, but it's very sturdy and will be cheaper than getting a custom install done. Any acura dealer can get this part though. Just make sure to tell them the part number.

If guys have more Q's feel free to ask. I'm getting the Pioneer Sirius tuner SIR-PNR1 in the mail tomorrow, so that's my next piece for it. Pioneer also has an Ipod interface coming out, so I might get that too when it comes out.

Also, for those who want the N2. I heard the N2 is just an N1 flashed with new firmware. I heard that you can upgrade the the N1 and make it an N2 later by just getting an updated disc. I don't know how true this is but I got my fingers crossed!

Well I have all the sound coming into the factory HU, so I used a SNHOND3 to plug the RCA outputs of N1 into the factory HU.

To help me get even louder sound I used a Turbo 1 Line Driver made by PAC:

You can get it cheaper at audiooutfitter.com but they don't have a pic so I linked to Autotoys.

I also use a Ground Loop isolator so that I didn't get any ground noise.

What up Memphs!

I bought the concealed display direct from the Valentine1 site for $39 plus shipping. I like it a lot because I roll more stealth at night with it. Plus it's nice be able to mute the radar without having to reach all the way to the windshield. It's nice having close to the shifter.

I have a feeling you're going to be my hero by the time I get my install done. Thanks for the information!

I have some confusion, though...

I just bought myself a new 06 TSX with nav. I noticed you can optionally get the aux player (cassette or mp3cd) installed as well, with the same kit you mention using in your car (or rather, one very similar...just updated for the new model year). I don't see any mention of not being able to have XM, navigation and the aux player operating at the same time, and the audio interface on the car seems to suggest it's possible.

So in looking at the SNHOND3, the device states the XM must be disconnected in order to work...and will only work in cars with navigation if the HON03-F/MM adapter is used as a "navigation pass-thru". Since my car came with XM and the nav system, this implies i can keep my nav system with the combination of these two devices but would somehow have to disconnect the XM.

Looking at the Blitzsafe HON/AUX DMX V.2X adapter, it say it will allow you to keep the XM but not the navigation system. This is backwards from the HON03-F/MM solution, strangely.

The install instructions (attached) for the Acura "audio attachment kit" refer to the bus cable included in the kit being plugged into the spot where the "vehicle 14-pin connector" plugs into normally in the back of the factory stereo, and then the "vehicle 14-pin connector" being plugged into a port on the cassette/mp3cd player unit. In this case it seems like the player unit itself provides a pass thru for....whatever it is that "vehicle 14-pin connector" carries.

So the question is what exactly is the "vehicle 14-pin connector" used for (nav, XM or both) and what each of the two solutions (HON/AUX DMX V.2X and the HON03-F/MM adapters) allows to "pass-thru" on each of their Y-adapters.

I'm also wondering if there are differences between the 06 model TSX and previous years. For instance, the 06 has bluetooth which (if I recall correctly) is new for the 06 model. I'm wondering if there are other differences as well, like maybe better support for operating nav, XM and and aux device at the same time.

At the end of the day, I'm unplugging one cable and using a Y-adapter to plug in two devices. This can't be unusual, as it's what Acura does for an optional aux player (albeit with an internal "Y-adapter" in the player device). Why does the Logjam Electronics site indicate it's more complicated that this?

Anybody?
