Hey everyone, currently have a 04 Volvo S60 with 200k as my daily driver and looking for something with a little better reliability. Found a 2007 TSX with supposedly only 29k miles. Assuming the mileage is accurate (Carfax confirmed it was for what it's worth :) ), does the fact that the car is 12 years old negate the low mileage?

Plan on having an indy shop check her out but wanted to see what the forum thought as well as see how well this model holds up. I know the engines will run forever but what about long term reliability for suspension, electronics, brakes, etc for this year? Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!

If not abused, Honda made cars in general have a good reputation.

I have an 07 TSX that I bought used, it's coming up on 150,000 miles and in the 3 years I've had it I've had to fix a fair amount of things: wear and tear things like AC compressor, power steering pump, alternator, engine belts and pulleys, brake rotors/pads, etc.

Nothing electrical (other than battery/alternator) or engine related. Oh, except for the ground loop straps, I just found they were corroded and worn to the point of fraying, which I think was causing some issues that just started happening a few weeks ago.

That is amazingly low mileage for a car of that vintage, if it's spent most of its life sitting around I'd want to know the environment it had been sitting around in. I'd worry about old fuel and oil having sat there in place for months on end, the tires being out of round, that sort of thing (standard problems stemming from too infrequent use of cars), and if left out in the elements, rust related things underneath the car (including those grounding straps!). Tires and even things like engine belts could get brittle just with age, too.

That's almost too FEW of miles to make me feel overly confident about the car. If the car has been sitting awhile I'd want to know more about its previous life - ie was it stored inside, on jackstands, fuel stabilizer, ran every so often?

If everything checks out I'd say you came across a rare find.

While the 2007-08 TSX's are the best TSX's because of the Hondata Flashpro support, don't buy any TSX with an automatic transmission.

If you are any kind of driving or performance enthusiast, you will totally regret a TSX with an auto trans.

As with any used car, check the car over closely for any collision repairs/history and mechanical condition.
