I have a 2004 TSX base model when I got the car it had the AUX adapter already installed. After some time the radio started cutting in and out almost like a loose connection when the headphones plug gets pulled out halfway. I took the car to geek squad they said it was a bad amp. So I replaced that and the AUX system with a newer version that has Bluetooth but still didn't fix the issue. I'm looking for some help before I bite the bullet and replace the whole head unit.

The radio head on those will start having issues over time, as PCB connection and components wear out.

The center console, which includes radio and HVAC controls, is NLA so at this point your choices are probably either try to repair the PCB or replace the entire center console with an aftermarket unit. There's at least one available and it has a double DIN slot so you can install a modern stereo with BT, nav, etc, etc. That's what I did, works fine but the HVAC control is funky so I need to run it in manual.

I'm a bit confused on Geek Squad's deductive reasoning leading them to believe the amplifier is faulty. Do you get the same problem with the FM radio? Or is the issue exclusively with the AUX input?
