Lol 1 of 3 issues I'm having... This next issue just started after I changed the power steering pump. I can be driving and it feels normal and usually while taking a turn or simply turning the wheel just a little and I can feel it become tight, it never completely locked up but it is enough to reduce speed drastically to sure it's safe. And just as quickly as it tightened it will go right back to feeling normal. We jacked the front up off the ground and turned the wheel back and forth a certain set of times to try and push out any air.. but it still continues... Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't know if it is related or not but... previous owner put it on coilovers(Rev9) I didn't think anything of it untill I heard noises... Thinking it was putting too much stress on the rest of the suspension I figured ide switch back to stock shocks untill I got coilovers actually meant for a daily driver because as I now have learned, Rev9 is shit especially for d.d......however the noises didn't go away in fact it's just gotten worst. I noticed it's mainly just turning to the left... Lots of clunking/clicking noises... I don't know of the tightness in steering is related to this or the power steering pump...or something else... My fiance usually does this stuff but he had a bad motorcycle accident leaving him disabled and it's been very hard getting out during the winter to do anything with our vehicles.. if anyone has suggestions it's greatly appreciated...t.i.a

I would first check the steering arm and suspension components, followed by the PS rack.

Lots of clunking and clicking are a good indicator of a bad steering rack. The seals aren't holding and the rack starts taking in fluid along with the grime and since it doesn't hold pressure the steering gets harder. The fluid also turns your grease to sludge and you start getting the clunking.

Installing coilovers doesn't affect your steering much unless your car is dropped. The steering gets more stressed and over time it gets harder and starts to wear your rack. This happened to me but luckily I caught it before my rack was affected. I just replace the steering fluid more often and live with a little increased steering effort. And I did have to replace the power steering pump when it first happened to get most of the steering effort back.
