Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I could have some assistance identifying the problem I am having with my 2005 TSX.
There is a rattling sound that seems to be eminating from the engine compartment. It appears when the car is warmed, in gear, and not moving. When I begin to accelerate the rattling disappears and reappears when the car returns to a stop. It is not present when I am in Park or Neutral, only Drive or Reverse. This problem started about 1.5 months ago and was very faint at first but has gotten progressively worse as I continued driving.
I have taken the car to my mechanic who initally thought it was the heat shield. It was removed. He then thought it was the timing chain, so he inspected it (I think he may have tightened it) but the problem still persists.
I should also mention some other problems I have noticed along with rattling that began around the same time. My fuel efficiency seems to have gotten worse, and there is alot of vibration when I first turn on the car.
What could it be?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Vincent
