Right Turn Squeal

1591 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  bloodyace05
I'm having trouble finding out exactly how I can check the brake pad wear. I think my brakes are in need of replacement, but like I said, I dunno how to check. Seems simple to just look at how much of the pads are still there, but I'm wondering if there are any specific instructions around. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Do they squeal when you apply the brakes? There are usually wear indicators that will squeal when the pads get low enough and need changing. Taking off the wheel and looking at them is another easy way to tell. If there is very little pad left it is time to change.
The only squealing sound occurs on a tight right turn like a circular highway on-ramp; braking might silence it. The sound seems to protrude while turning, causing downforce on one side. A different squeak occurs on bumps... I'm not sure if it is related. I look at the brakes and cannot determine what specifically to look at, for the pads don't seem visible except on the bolt side view which does not show wear.
