For anyone interested in an additional exhaust option for the CU2 I have some info from Rich over at RV6.

I inquired about an exhaust for our chassis and below is the response I received.

"Thanks for the interest. ETA would be around March, we already have the piping made. Just have to test some customer mufflers we had made and find some suitable tips.

As for the price we are shooting for around $1000. The system will be full stainless 304, back purged and tig welded. Also it will be made in the USA and test fitted on our shop car before shipping."

Very nice and thanks for checking up on this.

If this was $1000 cat back and then a SK2 header is around 4-500. So possibly a full exhaust could be 1500-$1600.

The RV6 PCD is only around $350, I think it would compliment the RV6 exhaust nicely seeing how they are the same manufacturer. Save you a few $ over the SK2 also

I did get some additional info about the exhaust with a follow up email I sent.

"The main tubing is 2.5" OD and 2.37" ID and the tubing running to mufflers will be 2.25" OD and 2.12 ID. We will be using a US made 0.065" tubing.

Haven't decided on the tips yet."

Last I spoke with Rich from RV6, they said the RV6 catback is being optimized for minimal rasp with their PCD and testpipe. I'm also considering the Fujitsubo, and $1100 shipped is a very attractive price if RV6 is going to price theirs at $1000 (+tax/shipping I assume). Only downside is I have no idea if the Fujitsubo Legalis R will get rid of the rasp produced by the PCD. The RV6 catback will no doubt take care of that. I suppose one could just install a second resonator on the Fujitsubo Legalis R, but I don't have the balls to have a muffler shop chop up an expensive JDM catback.

I have thought about this myself but for me waiting 4-5 months might not work.

I already have the PCD and will soon be getting the HFC, honestly the Fujitsubo is looking very attractive to me at this point.

I have read about the rasp so I am waiting to get all the parts before I install, I have a feeling it would drive me crazy. If I end up with the Fujitsubo and it has a rasp im sure I wouldn't have a problem finding someone to take it off my hands.

Alot to think about...

Thanks for the info, and yeah 4-5 months wait + RV6 likely to cost more after everything makes the Fujitsubo very attractive.

If there's one favour I could ask of you, it is that we'd love to hear back from you as to whether the Fujitsubo + RV6 PCD (+ HFC if you have it on too) has any raspy noise at 2-3k RPM. A video would be really, really helpful and nice. I understand you're likely going to be installing everything at once (PCD, HFC, catback), so it won't really be a PCD vs PCD + Fujitsubo comparison... but a raw vid of the whole setup with some revs would be awesome.

Anyway, good luck!

I recently took a risk and pulled the trigger on a Tsudo 70mm exhaust from ebay 500 Shipped! I have to be honest, I was very skeptical because of the price and it being an ebay exhaust, I was completely shocked when I got it in the mail. The flanges were CNC'd, the welds were real nice and fitment is pretty good. They even give you a HFC with the exhaust. Best of all, it's a deep sound, not raspy at all and sounds really nice when paired with a skunk2 race header. So for those of you who are like me and don't want to shell out an arm and a leg for an exhaust, you should definitely consider this setup!

Disclaimer: I should have mentioned, this setup is really loud, particularly during Decel. I wanted a quiet setup, but I realized anytime you do a full exhaust system quiet goes out the window. Anyways, I'm thinking about a second resonator but not too sure if it would help much.

I only seen Tsudo exhaust up to 08 TSX just wondering if you had a 1st or 2nd Gen ???

I'm still curious and hoping RV6 follows through with a Cat-back exhaust for the 2nd Gen not too many options for us.

Never mind I found it for 09 and up. It's tempting for the price I know they say you get what you pay for but $500 and maybe it's not what you were looking for versus $1000 on an exhaust you might not like.

Yeah, for me it was totally worth it. I went to the only shop in north texas that had a mandrel bender to price out a custom setup and he quoted me 900 for a single 2.5" exhaust (the Tsudo being 70mm or 2.75, I think."), not including tax(8.25% in the state of Texas). I really didn't care about brand name at this point because Fujitsubo sells one for around 1400 and Mugen is over 2 G birds and I definitely am not spending that much on a CATBACK exhaust. A buddy of mine sent me a link and I was ecstatic that there was an exhaust for under a grand so I bought it and I didn't think twice, lets face it, spending only 500 on any single part for this car is nearly impossible. Anyways, I'm very happy with the purchase and I love the Exhaust. I'm still in disbelief because they could easily sell these for 8-900. I'll try to post some pictures up of it along with some video if and when I can find the time. Moral of the day, you don't necessarily always get what you pay for.
