The EPA rates the Saturn @ 21 city/29 highway...and the recommended fuel is 87 octane.

Of course I'd take the TSX over a Saturn in a heartbeat...

But the acceleration, curb weight and fuel economy comparisons sure are interesting...

I wonder how the Saturn would do with a 6 speed manual tranny?;)

LOL

My girlfriend has one fully loaded with all options and I find it painful for her to be paying $459 a month for 60 months on a purchase. I find it hard to believe that she is paying so much for a Saturn.

Her dad bought the car.... not her....

Overall it's a decent car, however, it utilizes a lot of cheap feeling and looking parts. Furthermore, The exterior and interior finish is no were near an Acura. Additionally, The fully loaded model costs upwards 28k... for that price, you may as well get a TSX or ad a couple thousand and get a TL.

I hate that this is my first post, but after browsing these forums for a few days I have to say something........

To the TROLL above....you must have NO life. Why do you spend hours upon hours searching the web for performance/fuel economy stats of the most obscure cars that aren't even in the same class as the TSX?? Do you even like the TSX? Why are you here, to make friends?

Lets get this over with once and for all, the TSX is not about 0-60 times or being the MOST fuel effecient. It's about intangibles that aren't measured by some meter, but more by the person behind the wheel. It's a well rounded, modest performing entry level sport sedan which has been, for the most part, praised by the press (and more importantly owners). It isn't for everyone and isn't meant to be. It obviously does not appeal to you and that's great. Anyone who would even mention the TSX and a Saturn in the same breath doesn't really "get it".

I'm sure you can find plenty of cars that are comparable or better than the TSX in certain ways. You can find cars to compare to every other car using this method too. But the fact will remain.. the TSX is a "nice" car that people like. How much you like a car is very important too, as well as how cool the car is to other people. For example, a girl that sees me driving a TSX might say "wow that's a nice car" and start talking to me. A girl that sees you driving your Camaro will say " ". That's correct. She won't say anything because she didn't notice.

That's because the TSX is a GIRL'S CAR. They are therefore attracted to it.

A girl who appreciates POWERFUL cars might say, "Wow, that's a SLOW car.":p

Sounds like you need to review many of the various posts and threads on this site (from OTHER USERS) which discuss 0 -60 times, 1/4 mile times, whether or not the TSX will "squeel" its tires, etc.

It should have the 240 HP Accord V6 in it...If that won't fit then it should be running an intercooled turbo...

That way it would be about as fast as a PT Cruiser.

not quite if you did your research you would realize its directed towards young adult males
Let's see how the demographics end up breaking down.

Some of use don't need a car to attract female attention. Additionally, I'd have no use for any woman who was SHALLOW enough to judge me based on what I drive.

MEN drive cars with engines.

Wow.. is there EVER a time when you aren't on this board? FREAKIN LOSER.
Earlier you "challenged" me to find a car that was as fast as the TSX, weight the same/more and got the same fuel economy...

The Saturn LS300 is but one in a long list.

As far as REAL cars are concerned, the Camry V6 SE 5 speed auto is more car for the money that the TSX.

Camry V6 doesn't have factory Xenons or curtain airbags. It also doesn't have a 17 inch wheels.

As far as meeting my challenge, you found maybe 4-5 cars that met those requirements. But if I add this simple question, you're stumped again. Any of those cars in the 27k or less area have factory HID headlights and 17 inch wheels?

I've driven plenty fast cars. 350Z, WRX, CL-type S, Integra type R, G35, Lexus GS400. You keep doing all this research, and I'm just asking questions off the top of my head. There's a very big misbalance of effort between our conversations.

Oh yea. Anyone who says "Pal, I've had more than you could count. " hasn't had sh*t. As of now, I don't even believe you are of driving age.

Why would I want 17" wheels?

The TSX would be a better car dynamically with 16" wheels. Why? Because 16" wheels would still clear the brake calipers while having the added benefit of being LIGHTER (both total vehicle weight and rotational inertia).

I don't care about Xenon headlamps.

The Camry V6 has something the TSX doesn't have: An ENGINE!

You're basically the type of guy that doesn't appreciate a high revving 4 cyl engine. You don't know much about the fun of driving manual. You know how to press the gas pedal (probably in the arcades).

And here's a news flash: most people do care about features like Xenon and 17inch rims. Fortunately for this world, people like you represent a VERY small minority. The demise of the Camaro will prove this.

I don't know much about driving a manual?

Gee, my Z28 is a 6 speed...My two 5.0 Mustangs were 5 speeds, my SHO and my SE-R were 5 speeds...both of my Toyota trucks were 5 speeds...Out civic Ex was a 5 speed...

I appreciate a high revving 4 cylinder IF it delivers fuel mileage which is significantly better than V6 (and even V8 cars).

Acura hopes to sell 15,000 TSXs this year...

How many Camaros do you figure GM sold during the last year of production (2002)?

My LS1 6 speed is EPA rated @ 19 city/28 highway...

Do you think I'm going to settle for nearly HALF the drivewheel HP just so I can gain 2 MPG city and 1 MPG highway?

Don't make me LAUGH.:

Camaro already ended production?? that's something I didn't know. And all this time I was thinking it's days were numbered. I had no idea its days were already gone.

I think you are either really old, or really young. That would be the only explanation for your behavior here.
