We hear the TSX will mostly stand pat through 2006, then be freshened a bit. The mostly likely changes for '07 will involve cosmetics and perhaps a few features, though more horsepower is a distinct possibility. We'll keep you posted.


Strange that we haven't heard anything like this anywhere else. In fact, as far as I know we haven't heard or seen anything at all about the '06.
Consumer Guide is very reputable, but as far as I know they're mainly involved with just reviewing the cars; I don't think they have any reputation for giving scoops.

BTW.....Consumer Guide isn't the same as Consumer Reports.

I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't changed anything for 2006. After all, cars don't change every year, even minor tweaks usually appear every few years. Besides, it's not like we're driving the Altimas, where they HAD to change it after the first year because the interior was so ___________ (pick your word).

Honda/Acura may not be changing anything visible for 2006, but it (as well as other car manufacturers) can and will tweak a model over its lifetime. For example, the current generation Civic's rear suspension was revised 1 or 2 years after its first year on the market.

i actually like not having the lit steering wheel..it looks fugly imo..besides, i dont need a light telling me where the buttons are..and the colors dont even match with the instrument cluster..

Actually I feel both of those things too. And I know the steering wheel thing was just one example -- there are probably a few things that each of us would like to be improved, and I go along with the backlit steering wheel controls.

My main reason for being disappointed in this news (or rumor -- we don't know which it is) is that as a big fan of the TSX, I want to see it always getting better and staying ahead of the game, just like when you root for a team, you want it to keep improving.

I don't like the lit steering wheel either since the buttons are black and don't match the silver trim on the steering wheel, glad my TSX doesn't have the lit wheel.

I am thinking the TSX will get a freshening in mid '06 (new front and rear bumpers, grill, and rims) considering the car was released in April 2003 as an '04 model. Everywhere else the Accord Euro was considered a 2003 model when it was released during the same time period. Thats my guess, a complete redesign of the TSX will come for the 2008 model year.

And actually that's part of what I'm thinking too. Not that I totally mind it -- I like to be able to keep a car for a REAL long time. But OTOH I wouldn't mind being "forced" to trade in sooner for a TSX that had some great changes.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, especially if Consumer Guide is right.
But anyway, first you gotta help us figure out that site.
That is some shiite there -- I just took a quick glance, and I see 90 in physics, a chick with her butt in the air, and Yao Ming is gay!
