A Hooters in Queens Is Sued for Racial Discrimination - NYTimes.com

In early July, Kisuk Cha and his girlfriend, both Korean immigrants, walked into a Hooters in Fresh Meadows and ordered buffalo shrimp and chicken wings to go. After they placed their order, they noticed their server and another employee standing at the computer giggling and “gawking at them,” according to the lawsuit.

When the server handed them their receipt, Mr. Cha and his girlfriend saw that in the space reserved for the customer’s name, the cashier had typed “chinx.”

How do you guys feel about that? I wish i actually payed attention to the receipt now!

its hooters, they are known to make jokes, albeit, racial jokes are always crossing the line because its so sensitive.

Me? Personally? I wouldn't care if they wrote Mr. Curry (or something for example) on my receipt, I'd bring it up with my waitress, laugh and probably tip her more for the humor.

To each their own I guess.

This does make our Queens meet spot that much more interesting .

As I stated, it was used an example. Regardless, I am not saying what happened was right, its definitely wrong under any crcumstance.

But the OP asked how I feel. And in my shoes, I'd laugh it off, because racial discrimination can be far more subtle yet far worse.

I guess I just don't see an equivalent term or example for *****, ****, ****** etc., let alone in such a demonstrative way (labeling your customer, laughing about it openly).

It's another thing to do an accent.

Me personally if i was with my girl who is asian i would be furious. If i was with the guys and they wrote that about one of them id Laugh my ass off but would feel bad for him lol
