OEM NGK Iridium's are 100% your best bet. They are top of the line plugs and are really good for all but forced-induction applications in the K24.

With a 2006, how many miles do you have on it? They don't require changing for something like 120,000 miles (and even then, odds are they're going to be fine and only changed as a preventative-maintenance item anyhow).

I found basically no difference between 160,000 km old plugs, and brand new ones (both OEM). I'd say the vast majority of your '5hp' increase is in the K&N filter, and the butt-dyno having ears. ;)

Funny you should ask :)

These are best:
Maintenance Part: Iridium spark plug OE manufacturer (NGK), 2004-2008 Acura TSX CL9 - HeelToe Automotive

I just did mine at 100000 miles and I would say DO NOT WAIT to change them. I must have gained 5hp with new plugs and a K&N drop-in! I am so amped about it I came up with a completely new maintenance schedule for my car. Announcing it soon in the forums here.

curls...I respectfully disagree.

I had the same experience with my Odyssey and my MDX. Also I know that many cars burn out 100,000 mile plugs well before 100,000 miles.

The 100,000 mile plug is a marketing ploy.

I don't doubt that the combination of the air filter and plugs were a big factor, but the plugs alone I do know for sure changes the smoothness, gas mileage, and power of the engine.

Actually, Marcus, you triggered something in my memory: I had my block changed after having the head rebuilt by Acura (warranty). There's a good chance they replaced the plugs at that time (91,000km). That would mean when I swapped out the plugs they were only 70,000km old or so (about 45,000mi). Hence the lack of apparent 'gains' from the new plugs. Maybe.

You are correct and yea iridiums say 100,000 but on my TSX I change them every 50k and each time there is an improvement in gas mileage and engine pick up. I’m a master tech and have owned a 2010 Evo X MR Touring with 400hp as well as a 2012 STI with 400hp and a 05 Lexus IS300 with bolt ons and a 02 A4 with bolts ons and guess what each car I ran NGK laser iridiums an would change them at 30k in my forced induction cars and always made a difference. NGK iridium plugs are thee best plug in my opinion there’s a reason all these auto manufacturers run them as oem plugs the evo and sti both had NGK on diff was the evo came with one step colder and my sti I changed to one step colder. So
To the guy saying they last way over 100k and changing them makes no difference u need to brush up on ur auto knowledge.

No u do not have to
Change the coils but I would say it wouldn’t hurt. My tsx had a coil go bad at 110k so I replaced all of them at $70 each for oems ya pricey but when that coil shit the bed the car was misfiring and had no power obv cuz it was running on 3 cylinders.
