Hi all-

I have kind of narrowed down my search to 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium or the Acura TSX Wagon.
But, I'm really torn between these two. The price difference is around $3500.
Any thoughts welcome. I'm sure I'm not the first one with this dilema.
Hopefully, this being a TSX forum, I don't get biased opinions :)

Thanks.

They are different cars. Subaru will feel noodly and utilitarian. The CVT isn't horrible, but it isn't fun to drive either. It's a tall AWD crossover, where the TSX wagon is a luxury performance wagon. Only thing the Outback has going for it is the available 6MT. Do you need the AWD?

I came from owning a Subaru, they are great cars but are nowhere as refined and reliable as an Acura.

2013 TSX Wagon..?

Folks-

Any idea when the 2013 TSX wagons are going to come out? If there is going to be no change from the 2012 version and they are almost there, atleast I can get a better bargain on the 2012 versions?

Thanks.

Discontinued?

Thanks folks for all the replies.

I'm also reading that the TSX wagon (or the entire TSX line) *MIGHT* be discontinued in 2014 if not in 2013. That really scares me.. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I went with the tsx wagon. I was looking at all the wagons available in the us right now, and it came down to the Subaru and the tsx. While fit and finish were good on both, the tsx is better. The main selling point to me was that the driving style of the tsx is much more car like compaired to the outback. The steering on the outback is heavier. Acceleration of the tsx is better, and so is the fuel efficiency. Include all the features of the tech version and the Acura isn't that much more expensive. Hope this helps.

As to the tsx going away, I'm sad to say it makes sense, it competes with the Accord, and the TL. It's big enough for a reasonable family car, but with the high end feel and features of the Acura brand.

Why import a model for just the Acura brand when you can ugly up an accord add some features and leather seats and get the TL? Same model applies to the ilx. Fancy up a civic, and done.

Former Outback Owner Shifts to Acura TSX Wagon

For all the reasons you mentioned, we traded-in the Subaru Outback we had for ten years and are now very happy with our 2012 Acura TSX Wagon.
The TSX has about the same room--I think a little more driver leg room. I greatly appreciate the better handling. The TSX is perfect for trips through the back-roads of Napa and the Mendocino coast.
Its nice to have a car that is fun to drive.
