I'm building an '05 Tsx with AT, and plan on running ported k24 head, ported rrc, nippon (12.5cr) pistons/ scat rods, 70mm tb, '07 tsx cams with 50° vtc, PLM headers, custom 3" exhaust, CAI, and 100 dry shot NOS. I have all the parts, I'm doing the work myself, and sticking with AT, because I'm old and lazy. Question: Should I upgrade my springs or just adjust lash? What is the most cost effective tuning software I can use without swapping in an '07 Ecu? Thank you.

A couple points to address here.

The automatic transmission will not hold the additional power. They're reliable up until about 300hp, then they're a ticking timebomb. This setup will be making around 350-400 on nitrous. Not trying to discourage you, but that will be an issue.

I would upgrade valve springs. You're in there already - might as well, right?

As for tuning, grab a newer ECU. You're dumping thousands into engine building, engine management is equally, if not more important. Hondata Reflash is available but I don't think it has the parameters that you'll want - it's really only for stock or very minor bolt-on applications, not full engine builds.

I've seen 400+ hp turbo k24 with AT, and they produce more torque, which is what I assume would be the downfall of the tranny. I also plan on running a transmission cooler. I really want to use the tiptronic function to make it a paddle-shift setup as well, but we'll see. I appreciate the advice, and will go ahead and upgrade the springs. Thank you.

The usage of nitrous would apply similar levels of stress to a transmission as a turbo, since they're both fairly aggressive forms of forced induction. A transmission cooler will certainly help though. Even if the transmission fails, they're a dime a dozen.
