Had a similar scenario on a 2003 K24 Accord brought in one time. The stator inside the torque converter was loose on the input shaft. It was never clear why, but the splines on the stator were a loose fit on the input shaft. Nobody, including myself, was willing to say for sure if they had for some unknown reason been worn down, or if there had been a manufacturing error. A new TC remedied the problem.
Also, on a later model V8 Expedition, one of the torque converter bolts that holds the TC to the flex plate had at some point backed out and just rolled around on the inspection cover. Under idle conditions the harmonics were such that the mounting bezel for said bolt would vibrate against the flex plate. This too made a similar sound. Easy fix here though. Remove cover, install bolt, replace cover.
Whatever it turns out to be, best of luck to you. I hope it's nothing too serious or expensive.
