Ok guys new to the forum, just recently bought an 05 TSX Mt with 106,000 km on it. I drive almost 1000km every weekend, and i cant have this car break down on me on my commutes. I tried checking the Tensioner check that was provided in the DIY TSX link, but the pictures are not showing, i checked eveywhere on google but nothing on inspecting it.
I wanted to know how to check if I potentially have a bad Tensioner and avoid a costly highway breakdown. Thanks

So my timing chain tensioner failed. Mechanic says I’m looking at 4-6 grand and the dealership told me the same thing. Does anybody have any idea if it would be cheaper to put in a new engine? I don’t have the cash Showbox jiofi.local.html tplinklogin to pay out for this and I need other options.

The only check that I know is by removing the tensioner cover and manually operating it. Generally you go by indicators like some slap or minor chain rattle when you start the car.
