I recently just bought a 2007 Acura TSX (Black)... I am thinking about getting tinted windows all over, but tinted windows in the FRONT are illegal in NJ. I don't want to get stopped by the police, so I am thinking that I should get 50% in the front and 35% in the back. This way the front windows look almost clear and it blends in with the rear windows.

What do you guys think? If you have pics of your tinted windows, please post!

I went with 35% all around with no problems form the cops... yet. If your worried, like you said, just go with the 50% front and 35% back. And welcome aboard.

You should do 20% non metalic tints... I got that and its actually not too bad at night :toocool:

But if you do metalic tints stick with 35% or higher becuase it will be too dark.

Thanks for the quick reply. My car is black with an all black interior. Viper, dont you think that 20% would be too dark in the front? Even 35% in the front might be too dark? I really don't want to get stopped! lol!

thanks Juri! I think I'll go with the 50% in the front, cops will barely tell that my front is tinted (I hope!!)

well, I run under the principle of tint and deal with cops later.
I run 15% all around, and when cops are near, I just roll my windows down.
and if I happen to get stopped for something, the first thing I do is roll all
of them down. The tint laws are so that the cops can be safe and see inside
the vehicle, so if you roll them all the way down before he even walks up on
you, chances are he won't even mention it, cause it will be a non issue.
it's worked for me so far.

the 35% tint at the shop ima do it at is actaully really light, so i am going to do 23% all, i would do 17% but my friend said its a LITTLE hard to see at night, so i rather not risk it. check your tint shop to see hwo dark the tint really is first

being able to see through the tints well is totally a matter of what kind of tint and what brand of tint you get. my 15%'s are seemingly crystal clear both in the day and the night, it feels like they're not tinted at all. but some tints can be really dark and hard to see through. so I'd suggest asking about brands specifically as well as %'s. mine are llumar axcess by the way.

LOL. I do the same thing, the wife even helps by opening the sunroof shade for me.

If you have navi DONT get metallic, it may/will mess with the nav. Ive herd Lumar is one of the best brand tints you can get. I dont have mine tinted yet, but i think im going to do 30% all around. Personally, if its too dark I think it looks kinda 'hood'

I agree! I don't want it to be too dark! I need to be able to see at night, and I dont want cops to see that my front windows are tinted because it is illegal in NJ. I feel that 45 or 50% in the front will blend well with %35 in the back. I hate cars with clear windows in the front and dark tints in the back. It looks weird! Either tint all around or don't get tints at all!!

Here is 25% all around with black interior

I took off my fronts (im NJ also) just to make sure i dont get pulled over
cops around new brunswick are a pain in the ass.... plus they pull you over.... check out your passenger side....stick their head in for a nice whiff of your car.... come over to the drivers side.... shine their lights in your eyes and ask if you are stoned regardless of who you are and what your doing....its happened twice now coming out of my apartment, almost like a routine stop of whoever they want, then they make up a story of you crossing a line, or jerking the wheel, or accelerating too fast, etc

better safe then sorry....also you wont pass inspection with any tint on front windows....

go with 50% on fronts if you want, i think you'll be safe.... but if someone wants a reason to pull you over..... they got one

go 25-35% on rears for sure.... looks great and helps to hide your belongings...

first thing i did to my car was tint it.
I got 35% up front and 5% in the back, i really regret not going down to 15% up front but oh well it looks good.

I got 50% on the windshield and I love it. It is just enough for my eyes to relax in the middle of a bright day, I see just fine at night, and cops don't even notice it. Also my passengers never complain about sun burning their skin. For me, 50% up front is perfect.

50 percent on the windshield? so what do you have on the front and rear side windows?
