new 3.5Se altima is very fast.. 240hp is alot more then tsx has.. with a v6..
That's one reason why the TSX SHOULD have a V6. (Cheaper and larger V6 Altimas are MUCH FASTER).

The TSX is going to be MARKEDLY slower than an RSX-S because it has the same peak power (200), but is FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS HEAVIER.

It is NOT a sub 7 second 0 - 60 car.

A V6 LX Accord with the Automatic (240 HP, MUCH flatter power curve and a 5 speed auto) is faster (0-60 7.0/1/4 mile in 15.5 @ 92 per CAR AND DRIVER) than the TSX 6 speed! It's also cheaper.
I recently drive an '03 EX V6 auto; it felt at LEAST as fast as those those claims.

But then we go back to the looks of tsx, luxury, suspension, sporty, alot of features..

Plus people who will buy this car dont care if it does 7 or 8 seconds 0-60 because they just need a sporty family everyday car if they need speed they have the wrx,neon,evo8 all turbo charged and have enouph speed ..:D

Acura knows a person who does not make $80,000 a year wont afford this car so they did not want to make it faster because people in the age group 25-up dont mind having a 4 cylinder with 200hp.

An Accord V6 EX with leather is hardly a penalty box...

And it is FASTER than that Acura.

People have to make $80K plus per annum to lease/buy a $28K car?

Here's how the V6/6 speed Accord coupe goes. (It SMOKES the TSX, it's less expensive, it has more room and it even gets better highway fuel economy!)

Personally, I'd get the Accord and would install 4 Konis, a larger rear anti-roll bar and beefier rubber.

Which would you rather have for ~ $28K; a TSX or this:

If i was able to get a 2 door car it would be the G35 Coupe for sure but since i need a 4door every day car i like the tsx compared to all others i test drove. :D
Have you driven a V6 Accord sedan?

That's a faster car than the TSX. It's also roomier and less expensive.

Oh, the G35 is available in a 4 door sedan...You're aware of that, right?

The accord doesn't look as nice tough (i find the front so ugly...)
BTW people who doesn't need 4 doors should get something else, as most coupe in this price range will perform better (most of us don't go on racetrack tough...). If you need 4 doors, there's not a lot of sedan in this price range that gives you that much rear space (A4, IS300, BMW serie3 are all cramped in the back), can't say for G35 sedan since I didn't test-drive it, the only one that comes in mind which would match the TSX in rear space is the VW Passat. (the accord too but it's fugly IMHO)

1/4 mile in 15.9 secs? That is somewhat disappointing to hear. I was expecting it to be faster. I hit 16.0 secs flat with my bone-stock Integra LS 5spd and it only has 140hp.

Granted that the Integra is lighter, but I figured the extra hp in the TSX could make up the difference. But looking at the quoted numbers, I guess not.

The TSX is ~ 600 pounds heavier than your Integra LS. That's a lot of extra weight. Additionally, the TSX's 200 HP is fairly peaky, which isn't a good thing in a heavier car.

I'm disappointed in the performance, too. I checked out a couple of TSXs and I REALLY liked the car. Nice interior, great fit/finish, nice blend of equipment, etc...It's too bad they didn't see fit to install the Accord's V6. :(

The V6 Mazda 6, Jetta VR6 and the Altima V6 (in particular) are faster (and cheaper) cars than the TSX. They're all 4 door sedans:

BOTTOM LINE: THE TSX SHOULD USE THE ACCORD'S 240 HP V6!

I still think those numbers are not accurate.. I might be able to get my friend to dyno or go to the track with his to see how much it does but i doubt he will do it before he brakes it in.. ;)

Expect to see ~ 165 HP @ the front wheels.

The TSX and a base model, 4 cylinder Altima are NEARLY INDENTICAL in terms of straight line performance.

I'm driving a Jetta 1.8T RIGHT NOW (waitin for TSx), so don't tell me there is room in the back area, if so you, never sat in the back of a Jetta for sure., BTW Jetta VR6 fully loaded: 37890$ cdn , Acura TSX fully loaded 34 800$ CDN, so no cheaper...
And have you actually driven an Altima or are you just quoting 0-60 numbers ??? Altima as a cheap interior and is boring to drive, imprecise in his direction, not to talk about torque in the steering, (btw in every showdown between sedan this year it comes last , there's a reason).
Mazda 6 V6 seems more appropriate as a comparison, but the v6 is being rated as being a little sluggish in every review i read, plus the TSX interior looks and feels better.

ANd if 0-60 is tyhe only things that matter, I think we should all been driving wrx right now

Show me where I've stated that "0 - 60 is all that matters."

The 4 cylinder Altima uses the SAME engine as the Sentra SER Spec V and the Altima is less than 300 pounds heavier than the Sentra (but lighter than the TSX).

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that a lightly equipped Altima will run with a TSX, REGARDLESS of how cheezy its interior may be.
