This is a stupid stupid question but here goes.

When you have the key turned to ACC (engine is not on), do the lights mean anything or is it only a true warning if the light is on when the engine is started?

When I turn it to ACC, i see my oil light (oil level is fine) and battery light is on.

I thought that these lights turn on so that you know that the lights are working.

^^ you are correct sir.. they are only of concern if they are not on when on ACC and when they are on when the car is started.

The lights come on first thing 4 a system check. After the system runs it's start up test the lights will go off unless there is a problem within the car.

Yes sir, its on just for letting you know that the lights are in working condition and a system check. Its only a problem if it stays on with the engine cranked

What if the throttle body light and engine light stay on, then throttle body light flashes and disappears with engine light still on
