Water leak in the trunk

Hey guys, i'm hoping fellow tsxers have a solution for this, but i recently found out my trunk leaks water when there is heavy rain.

I noticed the water leak on the inside frame of the body, but not on the trunk lid. I can't seem to find out where the leak is coming from, but feel like it may have seeped through the back windshield and run along the inner frame.

Apparently TSX have this problem? My TSX is 2005, and i am the third owner, would anyone know of a solution to this problem?

Maybe the water is coming from the moon roof? Some other people had a clogged roof drain line that caused water to leak into the trunk.
Iv never had water in my trunk, just the floor of the back seat(driver side) It only happened the once and it was one hell of a rain storm.

where might i be able to find the roof drain?

ACURA TSX FR. DRAIN VINYL TUBE (SUNROOF)*@ AcuraOEMparts.com

According to the diagram from acuraoemparts.com there are two drains. One at the Passenger front corner and one at the driver's rear corner.

How to get to them is more complex. You'll need to look at the service manual. It looks like a lot of work. There should be a service manual online - someone posted a link to it in the past.

Before you go and take your car apart I would test the moon roof drain by pouring a little water by your moon roof seals and see if the water makes it way to your trunk.
Rear lights?

On previous Honda models it is not rare that with time, water comes from the rear lights.
even though i never experienced this problem i called my acura dealership and complained that a lot of TSX experienced this problem and what they did was documented it. you should do the same thing so we can get a hope of TSX recalls.

what i told them was that i have valuable electronic stuff in the back and that if it gets wet and i get electrocuted worse case scenario what would they do. i just gave them a bunch of BS to the point where they got annoyed and i made sure i knock that word deep into their thoughts so that in the future when something happends again they got something to think about...

where was the water discovered? did you mean the spare tire area? underneath the board something?
i just had this same problem few weeks ago when i was cleaning out my trunk. Found a stack of papers wet inside the middle of the trunk where u would lift up the cover to the spare tire on the side
Any of you folks have a wing spoiler ?

The seals were bad on my 09.

to answer your question, yes i do have a spoiler that was installed at delivery.
my aspec has a wing.

i also think it might be a bad seal from the back windshield..

i took it for a touchless wash, and power sprayed somewhere in the back, the trunk started leaking in less than 5 minutes. I couldn't find any holes, so i think its the seal..
i got the same problem. water in the spare wheel well. i only discovered when i went into change the tire after my tire popped...
Spoiler

It is looking like a possibility is the rear spoiler. If you had it installed by any method other than 3m tape ( meaning they drilled holes to mount) that could be the source of the leak.
I have been investigating the trunk leak issue for many months on my ride. 2006 TSX.
My leak had a small puddle of water under the spare wheel. I did the following.
Stripped completed trunk liner and panels out of car for almost 7 months drove without one in there. Used talc powder to identify where the leaks were coming from. There are two pockets in the rear frame of the car which is noticble when interior stripped out. Water would accumlate in these, water would also enter from the tail light gaskets and water would also enter from the black grommet that was located next to the rear lights in the metal frame of car. Basically water is entering in multiple locations.
The interior trim design in my opinion is also flawed, reason for this is that when I fitted the trim back water ingestion occured more than when there was no interior trim. The gray / trim carpet and plastic in trunk is designed as such whereby it would put pressure on the rear trunk seal, making it less effective.

My leaks were all originating from the rear of the trunk area. So not related to sunroof or AC. Place rolls of toilet paper in locations and use talc powder to identify entry points. The two black grommets on either side of the rear were also letting in water, although I would need to remove the bumper to seal these.

So which seals would you recommend on replacing first?
Update:

I was cleaning out the trunk today and notice it was wet again, took out the tools and stuff and see that there is standing water where the spare tire is. Took it out and on one side, the spare is rusted now. The cargo area has like 1/2-1inch of standing water inside.
unfortunately i haven't made any changes to my leak :( I'm planning on bring it to the dealership to have it fixed, somehow i feel my efforts are going to be wasted if i try to find it out myself..
Dropped off the TSX @ the Honda dealer today and they're having trouble in finding the leak
