Hello all,
I have a 2004 MT.
I've been doing some research and it seems that the AC compressor breaking down is a common problem in the '04's.
Yesterday when I started the car I heard a weird rattling noise, kind of like when you put a baseball card on the rear tire of your old bicycle.
The noise speeds up as the car picks up speed.
This noise only happens when I have the temp control on "Auto"
If I turn the heat on manually the noise is not there.
I also tested the AC to see if it blows cold air and it does. However, the rattling noise is there.
I'm thinking my compressor is going bad, but is not totally bad yet. Is there a way I could avoid replacing the entire thing?
All help is very appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.
