american express technologies canada is always looking for programmers, developers, architects, business analysts, and project managers. amex canada is predominantly a java and .net house.

american express HQ is located in markham, ontario.

these technologies positions are contract positions. however, american express tends to extend their contacts long term (i.e. one year renewals, 5 years straight).

if you are interested, please pm me.
Man! they are so close to my home! Is there rate ok? what level are they looking for? I am sick of travel downtown everyday! I can in a team of very top notch .net developers if money is right! Ar... should post it up a week eariler before I agree to renew my contract with RBC! Well... if money is right, I can walk away from RBC since I can ask them to outsource to me instead.

are you referring to the warden/mcnabb HQ? if so, yes, they do have a technologies department. however, i work out of the birchmount/micro court AMEX technologies office, which is just a 5min walk from warden/mcnabb.

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone knew about moving from the US to Canada?

The wife and I visited BC about 9 years ago and fell in love with the place and recently thought about moving.

Any resources, data or general info about US citizens moving to Canada available?

Thanks

First of all welcome to the beautiful British Columbia :)

Where are u planning to settle down first of all? Coz job search really depends on where you want to live. I dont know much about the US side of things but be prepared to pay more tax than US though (but you cant beat the next to free health care though lol)

We didn't get to go around as much as I would have liked, but what little we did see was great. Of course 9 years ago, the exchange rate was directly opposite of today.

If I remember right we landed in Victoria which was very nice and headed for a B&B in Sooke, also nice but a little too laid back.

Next, we went to Nanaimo, Campbell River, Quadra Island, back to Vancouver - about 10 days total.

Would loved to have seen more, especially further north and Whistler.

Really liked Victoria and Vancouver but would like to find someplace more rural, like Nanaimo. As far as the health care goes, you either pay your life savings in the US for care or get heavily taxed in Canada...
Don't know if you really win either way?

Big question is what happens to my TSX if we did move?

Air Canada is hiring for station attendants at various airports throughout Canada. You need to apply online. That is all..
For those in the Vancouver area.. the starting wage is $10.80/hr
shitty wage but you get travel benefits from the first day you start. I was told that they will be hiring 50-80 people for YVR so here's your chance to get in! Work and on your off time travel the world!!!

There are no of job opportunities in Canada now a days. I suggest the job seekers to search for good job sites in google. They help you in finding a perfect job for your career. By the way have anyone heard of cloudslam10 i attended a cloud computing conference 2010 by registering in that site. The conference is about the latest trends and changes in the cloud computing. I gathered more useful information from the conference. And i also got an opportunity to meet the leading experts in cloud computing world.
