Hi all,

I recently discovered a noise from my car when driving from 30-50 mph...a distant whirring that gets louder with speed. Transmission shifts fine with no issues. Sounds like new winter tires on dry pavement or what I thought a wheel bearing.

I took the car to the Acura dealership and my mechanic and they both say the noise is coming from the transmission, possibly a bearing inside.

Has anyone ever had this issue? I am really dissappointed because this is an 06 6 spd with only 40K miles on the car and I just got it a few months ago certified from the Acura dealership. My 1991 Accord has fewer problems then this car. Plus the damn clutch is creaking like crazy.

Thanks

I have a similar noise, kinda sounds like a supercharger. Haven't really looked into it.

Clutch creaking is clutch msster cylinder. Cost me about $60 to buy it online and replace it myself. Or you can do a bandaid fix and spray silicone lube on it. I would tell you more details, but it's been discussed many times on this website and the internet.

How loud is it? I don't know what sound mine makes but it comes whirls/whine at certain speeds. I can only hear it if I have my music off. It's been like that probably since 10K miles on my car. I'm currently at 100K miles.

Like you, I hear this with the music off or if the volume is low. Sounds like a hum... like worned out tires, but I know its not because I have brand new tires.
