Like the title says who already owns them and what is your set up? I am trying to find out what spring rates I want to run based off of your thoughts. I will be running 18x9's all the way around with probably 215/40/18's. I think stock rates are 6k-10k and I was thinking of going 8k-12k. Let me know what you guys have and if you like it or if you would have gone a bit stiffer. Thanks.

18k/16k extreme lows. Ride is surprisingly comfortable. I think as long as your dampening isn't on full stiff, they ride very well even if you have really stiff rates. J's Racing extended ball joints also really helped ride quality for me.

Thanks haha. Kinda wish I didn't lower it so much because I broke my oil pan and have to change it now but it's a little more complicated on a TSX than I thought. I love the style though and you just gotta be committed to it I guess haha. Good luck with your build and I'm sure you'll love the BCs. Some of the best coilovers out there for the price. They use a stronger piston than most other coilovers that are made over seas which makes them much more reliable. Great choice!

They list the rate for the spring. You request it.

I'm running BC BRs, default rates: 5k/10k. 17x7s, scrapes frame, no complaints. Comfortable enough, would get extended ball joints though to fix the geometry if you're sitting low. Braces, poly bushings etc. will make the car noticeably stiffer to drive.

Run 8k/8k BC BRs on my GR WRX. . .very stiff, sharp ride. Also have tons of bracing, bushings though that the TSX has none of. Need a roll-center adjustment (ball joint/tie rods) kit for that as well.

Went with 12kg 10kg Xtreme drop kit is a must. Man it can go hella low. Shii. There went my plastic undercover under my car lol. But ride is really good. best coilovers good price too yo

Running on BC, stock rates, 10/5. Sometimes I rub my wheel arches

Like you can see I can drop him like 6cm more.

The hight now; on that setup:


So if I drop 6cm more... I can't turn anymore :p

Tyres are 225/40/18

Not to jack thread, but I was all set on getting koni Yellow+GC until I saw this combo. Anybody has tried both and maybe provide some feedback?? I currently have FF Type 1 V.2 and it's just too stiff for my taste and I hope I can make stiffness adjustment hence the koni Yellow+GC combo.

Koni yellow/GC sleevovers really can't compare to BC coilovers. With a Koni yellow, you're trying to match a spring to whatever the Koni yellow is valved to (I'm sure no one really knows what rate the shocks are valved to). In addition to the shocks not being valved specifically for the springs, there is no preload. Essentially the piston stroke is shortened because the spring is too small. Thus, the piston compresses until it rests on the top of the spring. This can potentially shorten the life of the shock but it all depends on how extreme the case is. With the BC coilovers, you're getting a spring and shock that are meant to be together. The shocks are properly valved to the spring rate and height is adjusted without messing with the preload of the spring. The stock spring rates sound like they would be good for what you want as long as you stay away from the full stiff setting. Something mid range between full stiff and full soft gives a smooth ride. All in all, the BC coilovers are a better value in my opinion. They're stronger, valved correctly, and you don't have to mess with the preload when adjusting height. And lets not forget about the Koni Yellow horror stories where the spring perch breaks off while driving under normal conditions...

Thanks Julian! That was one of my concerns on the Preload when changing height on the GC on Koni Yellow.

Does anybody know the drop range with "normal" (not extra low) kit? I know FF is 1.5" to DUMP, how about BC coil? And how low do you need to be before getting extended ball joint??

And where is this made of? Heard horror stories of Taiwanese parts (despite I am a Taiwanese...:squint:)

If you're lowering, in general, you'd want the extended ball joints to correct suspension geometry. Not required however, as is obvious by the tens of thousands of coilover users.

Off-hand I can't recall where these are made, but I think Taiwan. Probably the same factory as Ksport, Megan etc. but to a higher standard. Don't worry about the reputations of Made in XXXXX. Any country can make the highest or lowest quality.
