ZBJZ15 and some others are wondering "over there" about that beeping/chiming that you sometimes get when you open the door. They got part of the answer but not all of it.
This has been raised a number of times on all the forums. We covered it most recently a few weeks ago, in the "Chiming noise" thread:

That's true but the real question is why don't the parking lamps (amber lamps near headlights) flash when you remote the locks (not the side lamps)?

And why don't the mirror lights flash either? The mirror LED's are so cool and the only time I see them on is when I'm demoing them for someone and step outside with the hazards on.

I never noticed this

And why don't the mirror lights flash either? The mirror LED's are so cool and the only time I see them on is when I'm demoing them for someone and step outside with the hazards on.

lol I've done the same thing. I really don't think having half the lights on the car light up every time I lock/unlock the car is needed. What does blink is plenty IMO

I didn't like them at first either. They've grown on me though. I think I associated them too much with aftermarket mirrors that people install on cars. I've yet to see any that look good to me. They all seem to look ugly and never seem to flow with the lines of the car.

Really?!

I thought they really did a great job integrating them into the mirror housings and make the car distinctive. I thought they looked cool although I hoped people wouldn't be saying they ripped MB off?
