I had an issue with my ECU also, but get this...my issues started literally 3 weeks after having taken my car to Acura for the recall. My prob was my car went into limp mode (wouldn't accelerate past like 15-20 mph). Had a U0107 DTC (lost communication with TAC module). It had me stumped for the longest time bc even tho all the diagnostic tests came out normal and a new TAC module didn't fix the issue, I thought it couldn't be the ECU since I'd literally just taken my car in for the recall.
Well once I saw the drivers side of the ECU I knew it had 2 be the prob! (I'd done all the testing on the connector side and that black plastic part right over the ECU was of course blocking my view of the drivers side. Check this out!!...

Here's a pic of the PCB inside..2 leads on that square IC had completely disintegrated from corrosion/rust!

The dealerships were only supposed to replace the ECUs if 1)no communication with scan tool or 2)P0606 DTC is pulled! Even if an ECU is eaten up with corrosion their instructions were to wipe the housing clean and put that worthless "cover" on! In my case they didn't even do that. The cover was just thrown in the hole where the ECU sits, not bolted on or anything! Shit you can even look at my 1st pic and see they did put the double sided tape on the ECU but it's not even on the correct edge. I bet they decided not 2bolt it on bc the bolts were so stuck with rust and corrosion it took me days of trying to ever get the thing out!!

I've looked online and at junk yards for ECUs for our car and its hard to find any that dont have corrosion (or at least noticeable areas on the housing where you can tell corrosion was there at one time).
I'm so pissed about the way Acura handled this (so-called) recall! Who knows how many customers were denied replacement ECUs when they honestly should have been covered under this recall!! It's madness!

Anyway, I figured out how to replace the original ECU with a used one without needing the dealership to reprogram the replacement ECU or buying the ignition& key along with it...as long as you can desolder/solder an 8 pin IC chip you can simply swap out the EEPROM. I did it and im a girl! Lol
