Thanks for the info Rockstar. Could you elaborate on what you mean by "Not RSX ones?" As in the second ECU cannot be from an RSX?

03-07 Accord TB's should be a direct swap onto our intake manifolds. You might want to bore them out a bit however. I forget what the diameter is, but it might be smaller than even the 04-05 TSX TB.
ok, when you upgrade to K-Pro on TSXs, you will need to send in your stock ECU for HONDATA to turn off all engine controls, then you have to order "sub ECU harness" to go from stock ECU then plug in the K-Pro you have. the functionality between K-Pro for TSXs and RSXs are completely different..

04-05 TSX = 60MM
02 RSX= 62 MM
06+ TSX = 64 MM

If possible, you can swap RSX-S throttle body.
RSX S TB and ours are different, won't be able to swap..unless you run RBC manifold + adaptor then it might work.. again I have to confirm this info from the KONI Challenge guys..

i am very interested... what year accord TB and throttle cable part numbers would you need??? also how would you go about connecting the cable to the pedal and route it threw the firewall - or is it full custom???

obviously you need the full kpro, but will you still be able to use radio controls and cruise i know is out the window... i saw someone on here a while ago that did this, but i forget the link... cost and parts list would be awesome!
when you have K-Pro you will only lose Cruise.. everything else works.. when I first got my car back I thought a module went till I called my tuner and HONDATA they confirmed it.. can't rmb what exactly was the reason..

man this thread is getting awesome! im guessing RTR and the KONI challenge guys are using a 03-05 accord TB.. if i am not mistaken the 06-07 accords have DBW - i had an 05 accord befre my TSX and swapped an 04-05 TSX intake manifold on it that i semi ported myself. - the TB was cable.

so i think you would need an 03-05 USDM acccord TB and maybe the throttle cable as well?? i would love to see pics and wonder if there is any fab you would have to do, or if all the parts are direct bolt-on.

ROCKSTAR keep us updated!

I doubt that they are much different in terms of fitment, but 03-06 Element and 03-05 Accords do have cable throttle and same RBB intake manifold. 06-07 Accords and 07+ Elements are DBW... I confirmed that.

02-04 CRV and base RSX used different intake manifolds than TSX but also with cable throttle. Maybe those will fit, but I do not guarantee.

when I changed my manifold to RBC I ran into some issues, because I had the P2R manifold spacer so I assumed that i could still use that on RBC, which i was wrong, there's a coolant pass-thru on our manifolds and not on K20 manifolds, I even had a hard time finding the right TB gasket to fit onto RBC...

I will talk to the KONI guys and see exactly what they have to do..

I just never bothered with the P2R gasket after putting on the RBC.. plus since I have to use the factory intake pipe for my Mugen intake, so after swapping RBC it also made it almost impossible to put it back..
Tommy was using the RBC on his TSX as well... But Im sure you cleared that issue already...

I would have love to switch to Cable throttle. More responsive in between shifts etc etc

DO this and do a DIY

Good Luck

oh man this thread is going awesome lol

i soo baldy want to convert to cable so i can get my mods going lol....

just thinkign out loud... would i be able to use a tsx ecu on my k24a3 uk ????

the idea is to use a tsx ecu and then get k-pro... and then get my plans going for a high powered NA car... so far i cant even put a k20 head or any other mods until i get the ecu side and cable sorted out... i appreciate any help and sorry for the hijack

I'd say don't worry about the cable for now save up for K-Pro and go from there... having a high hp NA car is gonna be costly as well.. usually 1hp= $100 for NA lol

I don't know how I missed it before, as I've read over this document a number of times, but some folks from an Accord forum pointed this out to me:

The TSX and engine management

K20 engine owners for the 02-04 Hondas and Acuras have the benefit of the K-Pro - a fully tunable stock ECU. When Honda introduced the TSX it updated the ECU [Engine Control Unit]. The only component in common with its predecessor was the connector plug! To date Hondata can modify the VTEC point; rev limiter, fuel, ignition and cam angle tables for a naturally aspirated TSX. There are no plans for a fully programmable system for the TSX. All tuning was done with non-streetable modifications for the sole purpose of dynoing with a RSX ECU and K-Pro.

Connecting the K-Pro involved an adapter harness and an Accord throttle body to replace the drive by wire throttle body. The throttle cable already exists and just needs to be moved. A throttle cable holder for the manifold was fabricated, but probably could have been purchased for a Honda Accord. About 6 wires were run to read the throttle position and control the idle (functions that are automatically handled by the drive by wire) The downside of this conversion is that the instrument cluster, air conditioning and vehicle stability assist did not work. ABS was not affected.

Using the K-Pro in this way has allowed us rapidly test a combination of components to find what works best in what order for the TSX, but it is not suitable for everyday road use.

I'm out for a few weeks, Merry Christmas everyone!
