When I ran the gruppeM intake I had the SC pipe that connected the two. There isn't anything offered by gruppeM but i'm sure you can make something that looks decent or have a local shop make you a pipe.

Hey Ben, how is the Gruppe M intake?? Is it really worth it?

As far as performance no but if you're looking for something to put under the hood to make things look better yes. If I were going to get an intake I would go with j's though.

Well I have been hesitating to get an intake because ultimately I want to turbo my car, but seeing your write up really gave me second thoughts. Also, why would you recommend J's over Gruppe M? I thought Gruppe M maximizes the area of the intake space generating more air in the chamber for more flow and power to the engine?

I bet if you dynoed the two the j's would have better gains. I love the gruppem intake don't get me wrong but when I opened the box and it was just a filter(k&n) and the carbon fiber surround I was kind of disappointed. I was thinking it would have a similar setup as the j's (ie. the metal pieces that diverts the air towards the intake.) I see the GruppeM intake bringing alot of hot air back into the engine. The fitment is pretty good but definitely not sealed off. I'm sure we aren't talking about alot of hp difference it just seems that the j's intake would be more worth it IMO.

Thanks alot for your input Ben!!! Really gave me new insights to modding once again. I guess for around the same price, the J's is a better buy. I thought the Gruppe M would come with something that directs the air similar to the Mugen and J's set up! Thanks alot man!! Thanks again for your input, always a great help!
