hey guys i have 2006 AUTO TSX, I was just wondering is it worth fixing it up for racing?

will I improve HP and races?

with CAI and EXHAUST?

let me know your opinions thanks :)

not for racing. You will improve hp but not significantly with intake and exhaust. HP will not increase much with exhaust. You're better off getting an intake and header.

Since you have an automatic, I would do things that makes the car more drivable as opposed to slapping on every part you can find on an automatic.

Your better off with a hondadata reflash first.

Lowers V-tec engagement point as well as torque and HP gains. The lower engagement is great for Automatics.

Then work on an intake, no exhuast because the 06 exhuast and CAT are more free flowing then the 04/05. Aftermarket gains on an exhust is not usually high..the gain you get with an aftermarket for the 06 TSX is weight.

Then maybe work on some suspension. RSB is always a good start. Coil overs are good too but costly because if you want it to look right, you'd do coilovers and a set of plus sized rims and tires.

Add a subtle kit like the OEM kit and your rocking.

Than i'd work on the interior, better sound, maybe a LCD screen.

dang... i should just bought a stick shift =( blah blah with parents thought... oh wells..

yeah the TL-TYPE s is mine also but its kinda heavy =/ so i was thinking fixing up the TSX instead..
So your parents gave you some grief about picking up a TSX with a manual transmission (which gives me the impression that they might've fronted the bill for it), with that being said I am guessing the TL-S isn't yours but your parents. :slap:

Do as mentioned before with the TSX; hondata ecu flash and an intake (I would recommend a decent short ram kit for the added low/mid range, it will work great with the auto). After that, look in to aesthetics like suspension and wheels.

It's his car and he can do as he pleases. Most folks come to the forum for information and help, blowing them off by belittling them is ignorant.
Jokingly pulling someones leg is okay, just back it up with some suggestions afterward. ;)

I would much rather he comes and asks for suggestions rather go out and add modifications to his car without a clue.

It's def worth modding your car to your liking. I have an automatic but that doesn't mean I can't make my car more enjoyable.

Your probably young like me and it's your first car. Just do some stuff here and there then when the time comes again to purchase a new car, you do what you want.

yeah i am young.. lol but you right my friend has 2006 G35 auto with cai and turbo and his kicking ass and kenstyle kit

so ill do the same with mugen kit and SC ;)

I would worry more about smaller upgrades, and keeping it looking as showroom as possible. The TSX isn't a fast car, but with some work, it can be a damn good looking (clean/bodystylings, comfortable, and a sort of fast car.

I like the TSX, because it's as luxury as I need, and it leaves lots of room to work on, and personalize, without looking gaudy (unless you want it to).

MT FTW BABY! if you think about it, anything you drop into an auto comes out with less gains than when you do it to a manual. i mean if you have money but nothing to spend it on, go for it. i'd do a bodykit with some rims, drop it, and be done.

use the mod bug energy on the tl-s!

ok ill go with mod bug energy on the TL-S =D

1. If you wanted to race, you should've got RSX-s. Its response to tuning is lot better than that of TL or TSX. also, it is easier tune RSX to begin with...

2. If you are going to race, PLEASE DON'T DO IT ON PUBLIC ROAD. Public roads are not there for racing. They are strictly there for transportation reasons. Go to local circuit or drag strip for everyone's safety.
