Hey Everyone,

I have a 2005 TSX Navi with 63000kms on it. Lights went out on the center console unit, no lights for climate buttons or audio unit.

Took it to Acura dealership, they said they cannot do anything because the 2005 models were not issued the service bulletin. My service advisor has also consulted his boss to see if they can go ahead and fix it under goodwill but unfortunately they cannot.

Being upset and disappointed, I called Acura of Canada Head Office and spoke to a customer relations specialist. They told me it is my responsibility to pay for the repair because I am out of warranty (3 yr or 60k). I told them I was 3000kms out of warranty and this should be repaired because it is a common defective problem with the 04 TSXs.

She told me it is out of warranty even if I was over by 1km. It's terrible service and she told me just fix it and hopefully they will have a service bulletin in the future for the problem. My car is 05 and now it's 08 already. They expect me to drive without lights in the center???

I told them it is the same part that failed in my car (should be the same part in 04s), which is the printed circuit board. Even the Acura dealership diagnosed to be the same part that failed, so I told the CSR and she just told me to pay for the repair because I am out of warranty. I told her that she should open an investigation for the problem but she was unwilling to help me.

ACURA OF CANADA SUX!!!!!!

Anyway, any one have the same problem as me? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, that sucks that you don't fall under that TSB. I know that you can buy the actual board from them and replace it yourself for alot less than what you will spend. I know that there is a DIY for it. I'll see if I can find the link for you

My local dealership qouted me at something like $130 bucks CDN for the PCB board. I also own an 2005 TSX, and my center lights 'seemed' to have failed on me. Turns out after doing the DIY ambience lighting install, something must short circuited and it blew the 'small lights' fuse under the hood...

Moral of the story check fuses first...stupid me!
