i debaffled my bottom airbox with the round dremel cutting tool. it works pretty good, except some parts were impossible due to the angle of wheel. in those cases i used a router bit, but the cuts werent as clean as the round cutting disc. majority of the time the wheel was so hot that it was almost like i was melting the ribs off. I then used a pocket knife to scrape off the melted plastic. If you are worried bout small plastic pieces, just take a piece of sand paper and make it smooth.
