Precision Locksmith

I took mine to these guys a few weeks ago. They're a good bunch of people out there. Found the code for my key and cut a blank to test first like any good locksmith would do.

However, they did mention that programming for the TSX was hit or miss. I dealt with Kevin and another guy there and between the two of them they weren't able to get it to work. The SDD device they used apparently doesn't handle our keys very well. They were able to verify it was the same kind of transponder on it, but their handheld device just wouldn't let them add my key.

I eventually took it to Richmond Acura - they programmed it for $55 + tax. $20 more than Precision, but at least they were able to program it with no problem. Just somewhere else to consider if you don't want to deal with the hassle of potentially not getting it programmed.

They spent a good 45 mins just trying to program it. They did say they had did a few TSX's a while back, and they were able to eventually program it after 4-5 attempts. However, they tried all they could but couldn't get it to work, and suggested I go see a dealer.

Kinda sucked because I had to drive through rush hour traffic on the Trans Canada to get there only to find out they couldn't program it. :S

Anyways, I got it programmed at Richmond Acura for a few bucks more, so no big deal. :)
