Do you just replace the camera on the trunk ? Is it a plug and play type of replacement ? I am only asking because I have a 2010 also and the back up camera sucks and not having those line sucks to. I would be interested in what you find out

 

I found a thread on the ********* website where someone with a 2010 TSX replaced his camera with one from a TSX Wagon. There weren't any line but it was clearer. I believe the lines weren't added until 2013+ model year. Check out the link below.

I will do some looking around on here for that thread. Link is broken here and in pm. Thanks for the info and I had a car with the lines and it makes it a lot easier.

 

It seems as thought its plug and play based. In the other forum the person just swapped out the two. The problem is finding a 2013+ camera for sale. Maybe at a salvage yard or something. I'm not sure if the lines will still appear or not but the picture quality will be better.

 

I wonder if you could get it from the dealer and how much.

 

I'm sure it would be pretty expensive from the dealer. $100+. I'm curious if the Honda Accord Backup camera is the same and if it would fit.

 

Yeah I need to look into the camer better and see how it hooks up and sits in the trunk.

 

He said the backup camera from the 2011 camera has a longer mounting bracket. Thats pretty much it. So basically it just seems like the camera itself is better and should be just plug and play.

 

Okay thanks for the info. So I would think the longer bracket would allow you to see at a better angle when backing up, instead of it facing the ground more.

I just called. The price of the camera is is $836.23.
That is just ridiculous. It may be better to find a salvage or totaled car and just nab it from there.

 

Wow the crazy , I guess I will just have to keep my eye out for a totaled car or something.

I have been looking at aftermarket stuff but none will hook up to our plug. I took a couple of pictures with it out of the trunk.









Not sure how the person got the 2013 to hook up the his car unless it has the same plug.

 

He said it was the same plug. Just the bracket was a bit longer to extend the camera out more. I've been looking to see if a new honda accord camera would work. I think it should since its a Honda product.

 

Wish there was more info out there about something's for our cars. Seems like we have to make it up as we go for a lot of stuff. You would think there would be more info and parts for a car that's working on 5-6 years old.

Its also good to look at a TL backup camera. The 2010 TL has lines and the quality is better. Im sure they will fit also

 

Good idea I will be looking for that also. Just they are super hard to find but I will keep looking !
