Started just taking measurements first. I noticed that the tl-s pad is going to tricky to position just right on the rotor. This bracket might need a few versions.

Ok so here is the caliper. It doesnt even fit through unless the rotor is pushed out.

With the caliper pushed up against the rotor, I took the measurement of this gap. The rest was just hours of measuring tabs and mounting points so I didnt take pix.

Here I am trying to figure out if the oem wheels can clear the new caliper.

Bardi, did you already drill out the holes on your knuckles? They look to be the right size for those calipers already ?

For the folks (like me) who have TL-s calipers with stripped threads, I was thinking of using Timesert Bigserts to repair those threads and put them to the needed 12x1.25 thread pitch at the same time. That would allow use of stock bolts and not needing to drill out the knuckles, and of course make the threads a bit less likely to strip out again.

It would be timesert kit # 5212 I think.

Anyone tried this? I am not sure what the hole-size is designed to be for those kits (bigserts) but it's for holes that have been stripped and repaired and failed once already, so, oversized in that regard.

This is assuming we'd use the bolt threads in the caliper to begin with (which might not be the case in Bardi's proposed design).

FWIW

Just a thought but could we not just obtain the complete Knuckle Assembly from a TL-S and swap that in? If the CV Axles are the same size for the splines, maybe that would work? This way you do not have to drill anything, and the OEM TL-S rotor would fit.

Yes, sir. The complete TL-S knuckle assembly will fit, but you also need the TL tie rod ends. This is what I have.

agreed, TL knuckles will work, its just more hassle and expense to change those, but that is looking like it might be the only way. Even then, not sure if stock TSX wheels will fit without spacers (TL-s wheels should of course, I'd think...)

Thats what I figured. I couldnt confirm if the Upper and Lower ball joints were the same size either but looks like you didnt have a problem with those.

Yes this would be more expensive but then you wouldnt require any custom brackets and drilling any unnecessary holes and it would be an OEM fit. Or just get aftermarket BBK :D

The TL-s is a nice option but buying factory parts for the knuckles gets pricey fast. (used knuckles are not so bad), but the best would be if there was a way to mount the brembos to factory knuckles and use the right sized rotor (as opposed to s2000 rotor which is a little too small)
