Weapon R race header dyno

So I finally received my Weapon R racing header (Thanks to Marcus from Heeltoe for all his hard work), and have been able to run a before and after dyno.
My car:
2005 Acura TSX 6 speed Manual

Mods on base run:
Air intake resonator box removed (stock paper filter)
Non-Stop tuning pulleys (again thanks Marcus!)

Mods after base run:
Weapon R race header
Weapon R test pipe
Ebay "L" shaped defouler
Of course I still have the pulleys and removed resonator box.

After I installed the header, you could hear the grizzly/raspiness sound you always get with a header and test pipe. The engine seemed to pull very strong and and VTEC went from just an obnoxious noise, to actual performance! My car actually behaved like a B18c after VTEC, before it would just fall away....you all know the feeling. Anyway, not trusting my butt dyno, I ran to make sure I was feeling something and not just hearing it....sure enough, an actual nice gain!
See my before and after plot:

Good points....NO rattles, NO banging, NO leaks, NO real problem hooking it up, tons of power, nice and shiny.

Bad points....very hard to get the first O2 sensor in (an extender should be sold with this header...take note Marcus. The header had the hanger facing the wrong way...duh! The step from the 2.5" test pipe to the stock exhaust is killing about 3-5 whp (opinion).

That's all, thanks

Correct, you can't bolt this system up to the stock cat because it has a two bolt flange...it's also a 2.5" collector. I wonder if a cat from an Integra would fit?

Nice writeup! Very informative. 20 whp is a lot of bolt on. Good stuff!

I think stock Vtec should be lower in the TSX. I mean 6K is just not enough Vtec!

I see K-Pro in your future! :D

so is the hanger issue just a design flaw, or is that how the jdm setup is?

pretty impressive. would be interesting to see how much it'd add to the 06+.

I think this header would do better on an '06 because it breathes better.
I got the defouler (CEL or MIL eliminator) from Touge Factory on ebay, it's is 18mm fits Evo X, plus other vehicles.

I do have an engine code, but it's not because of the test pipe...in my opinion, when I took out my cat, the O2 sensor threads were destroyed, so I bought an aftermarket O2 sensor and wired it up. The code I'm getting is P0139, which is a slow responding O2 sensor. I think if I get a stock O2 sensor ($200) it will work correctly. We will see.
Other than that, I love the mod and would suggest it to most anyone.

Did you notice any decrease in low end power? Like, you need to push on the gas harder to accelerate than you previous had to. (I'm talking about 1k-3K rpms only)

No, I actually thought I was gonna see a much larger gain in the low-end, because the engine pulls much better now from 2000 rpm up. I still had awesome gains through-out the entire range, even down low. Look @ the dyno, @ 2.5k rpm I have about an 8 wtq improvement, and it stays around there til VTEC then climbs to a peak of about 26 wtq @ 6.1k rpm...just imagine if VTEC came on around 5k rpm.

Overall, I'm damn suprised @ the performance the TSX has all bottled up.

I really want this header to, but California is a liberal state (Communist government and police state regime). Test pipes are so illegal here that they will soon fry people on electric chairs for running test pipes. Now pairing it up with a Magnaflow cat.... that might just be a better idea

The header looks good, dyno is impressive too. I like how you gain power thru the entire rpm range.

Thanks everyone.

BTW, I sent my dyno results to Weapon R (sales and R&D) also mentioned the hanger issue...hopefully they can correct that before any other headers get shipped. Also, Marcus @ Heeltoe knows about the hanger issue and will keep an eye out for the headers he sends out to his customers.
So hopefully this blemish is corrected for new buyers and it becomes a mute point. For the price compared to DC, Comptech and especially Hytech, I think we have a winner for price/performance.

1- hanger thing, I betcha anything this is a jdm/usdm thing. Hopefully WR does something with it, not sure they will tho. We shall see.

2- 04 versus 06 motor...yeah that kinda sucks, but you can basically get yourself back in line w a 06 intake cam:
Honda Genuine Cam, USDM 06-08 CL9 TSX Intake Camshaft RBB - Honda K-Series - Camshafts - Engine - HeelToe Automotive

3- California government won't approve a magnaflow cat either, nothing you'd want to run anyway. You might get life instead of the chair for running one.

4- TODA header....yeah better verify that. That's pre-toda-killing-usdm-distribution pricing. We used to get them for that much, now we need to get them grey market for $1800+!
Toda Exhaust Manifold, 04-08 CL9 TSX/CL7 Accord EuroR, 18100-CL7-00J - K20 - Manifold (Header) - Exhaust - 2003-2008 Acura TSX & JDM Honda Accord CL7 CL9 - HeelToe Automotive

I just read this thread, really nice gains. Im sure that the hanger problem is beacuse it was designed for the JDM Euro-R. From the pictures I can see that the hanger rest just like where my hanger sits.
